I was beginning to think that my winter apple tree shot was going to have to wait until later this year…but we finally had enough snow fall and the right light for me to capture what will be the first in this portfolio.

It was one of those morning where everything had a soft blanket of powdery snow and the sun mixed with fog made for some amazing light.

Location: AuSable Point, Lake Champlain NY

This image was not created on purpose…the Holga 135 can get a little funky when advancing the film towards the end of the roll. I thought I had one more shot but, apparently, I had half a shot.

I’m pretty sure I took the picture of ‘Miah first and Evalee second. I was THRILLED when I got the film back.

This is one of the many reasons why I love shooting with a Holga, accidental double exposures.

This is “lady bug”.

She loves fairies, animals, playing dress-up, soccer and being outside as much as possible.

Her best friend is her imagination.

She adores her daddy and worships her “pop”, my dad.

In the craziness that is our life, she is the perfect excuse to stop and take it all in. She misses nothing and absorbs everything.

This is what it means to be a kid.
